Fantasy Greyhound Racing

There are several of us who miss the fun of greyhound racing since The Woodlands closed in Kansas City, but we have found a way to bring a little of the excitement back. A lot of sports have Fantasy Leagues, so we thought we would apply this concept to greyhound racing. So, you are invited to join our Fantasy Greyhound Racing League. Our competition will be limited to just one card a week. We will use the Saturday evening race card each week at Derby Lane in St. Petersburg, Fla.
How to play: You simply pick the one dog that you think will win each race, and then you will get points for your team if the dog finishes in the top four spots. A win is worth 16 points, second place is worth 10 points, third place is worth 8 points and fourth place is worth 6 points. If your dog finishes in fifth through eighth place or is scratched, your team gets zero points for that race.

Check out the Derby Lane website at www.derbylane.com. They have one of the best dog track web sites around, featuring replays, entries, stats and live racing. Once you make your picks, use the drop-down form below to enter your picks for all races on the Saturday evening cards. The deadline for entries is 6 p.m. CST (7 p.m. EST) each Saturday. Your official entry time will be the time posted on your submission. Go ahead give it a try and have some fun.

Derby Lane License Plate to Sept. 4th winner; coin pouch to runner-up
The winner of the Sept. 4th Fantasy Greyhound Racing League competition will receive a Derby Lane License Plate to commemorate the victory. The second-place finisher will get a Derby Lane coin pouch. Good luck everyone. We will also crown the July monthly champion this week. |

FGRL to host special Labor Day Contest
Join us on Monday, Sept. 6 for a special Labor Day Fantasy Greyhound Racing League contest using the matinee card at Derby Lane. The entry deadline will be 11 a.m. CDT (Noon EDT). First post is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. CDT (12:30 p.m. EDT). The winner of our special contest will get a set of greyhound ear rings/tie tacs. Click here for the Labor Day entry form. Do NOT use the weekly entry form for Monday's contest. The Labor Day contest will not be part of our September monthly competition. |
