Frank Hansel
Photographer
Frank began his photography career in 1989 on the newspaper side after his graduation from the University of Kansas. He developed his love of shooting sports action while working for small newspapers, where he was honored National Newspaper Association for sports coverage at a weekly newspaper.
In the mid 1990s, Frank was mentored by a studio photographer in Shawnee, Kansas. He was an assistant photographer on weddings and other portrait shootings before he began photographing his own weddings and portraits in the late 1990s.
The advent of digital photography in the early 2000s brought Frank back to his first love in photography - sports, and now he and KC Imagemakers team up with area youth leagues and high schools to produce action and team photography for parents and fans.
Frank and his wife, Beth, celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary last April. The little girl in their lives right now is Flo, a retired greyhound racer they adopted from The Woodlands Pups Without Partners Program. Frank also owns one racing greyhound - Dr. Vinnyboombah, who is racing in Ebro, Fla.
